Holiday Lighting and Decor for Merrick Homes
Beyond roofline and tree lighting, Merrick homeowners can add pre-lit wreaths, garlands, pre-decorated trees, oversized ornaments, fiberglass figures and animatronics from our Christmas Decor, Fotodiastasi and Designer Collection catalogs.
Christmas lights are part of how Merrick celebrates the season. Set along the South Shore in the Town of Hempstead, the community is full of families who want a festive house without giving up their weekends to a ladder.
Drive along Merrick Road in December and you can see how much a few well-lit houses add to the season. The quieter streets just off the main road are where many of our favorite displays shine.
What we consider for homes in Merrick
Before a single strand goes up, we look at the house, the yard and the street. For Merrick homes, that usually means thinking about the following:
Salt air and winter storms come with living near the bay, one more reason the proactive maintenance included in our service matters.
Think about the view you see most, whether it is pulling into the driveway or looking out the front window, and design for that moment.
On a typical suburban lot, the roofline, a front tree or two and the shrubs along the foundation make a complete, balanced display.
Matching the neighbors is optional. Some homeowners love a classic warm white look, while others want color that stands out on the block.
A waterfront house is seen from two sides, the street and the water, so it pays to think about how the display looks from the shoreline as well as the driveway.

Lighting a home in Merrick
Merrick is a community in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. Being so close to the bay gives the area its look and its breezes. Think waterfront homes, homes along the canals and friendly residential streets, and you have a good picture of the place.
Nearby you will find Bellmore, Freeport and North Merrick. Most people know the area by its main roads, including Merrick Road, Sunrise Highway and Merrick Avenue. All of that adds up to homes that deserve a display designed just for them, not one copied from the house down the street.
Where we are based
Merrick lies west of our Holtsville office, within the service area we cover across Suffolk and Nassau counties. Have a question about your address? Call us at 631-286-4600, Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm, or request a quote online and we will come to you.
Finishing touches for your display
Lighting is only part of the story. Our installation work covers interior decorating as well, so the magic can continue once guests step inside.
A pair of wreaths, a lit garland around the door or an oversized ornament on the lawn can turn a nice display into a memorable one.
